Day 104: 11/5/17  A car is much more efficient than walking, I’ve learned!

Miles: 3.2 Steps: 8,048 Vertical gain: 661 feet Liquid consumed: 100 oz. Wildlife: Lots of people in Arches National Park Faith in Humanity: Saw a ton of people running a marathon near Moab. Quite inspirational! Well another day of lots of driving. Mostly around the back roads in the greater Moab area! First I went to a road outside of the Needles district in Canyonlands National Park that’s supposed to be 2WD for 40 Miles. It really wasn’t so I turned around rather quickly. Gorgeous scenery! Next I went up Near Hurrah Pass and there was a marathon going on. I felt bad driving on the road kicking up a bit of dust, but went slow to minimize my annoyance. More amazingly scenic terrain! Moab is unreal! Next I went up the Castle Valley which was again unreal! The next part of my day was awesome! I had a bit of extra time so decided to drive into Arches National Park and go hike Delicate Arch! Amazing to get some exercise, see a ton of people, and Delicate Arch is stunning! Crazy thing happened too! I ran into Gypsy, the woman who drove the tour bus in Mesa Verde National Park when I was there a couple weeks ago! So cool and random to see her there! Awesome! Nice seeing you, Gypsy thanks for the well wishes on my journey! I splurged for a cheap hotel in Moab as my to do list is long and there’s quite a bit of stiff in the car that needs to be mailed, organized, etc. I checked in somewhat early and got to work! Tomorrow I meet Tara at her car then drive her back to Grand Junction and stay with some amazing hosts: Gene and Rita! The adventure continues!
